Workshop held to develop Nepal Digital Health Blueprint

The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) and WHO Nepal held a workshop on 8–9 April in Kathmandu to discuss the preliminary draft of the Nepal Digital Health Blueprint. Over 80 participants, including representatives from the federal MoHP, provincial health directorates, development partners, academia, private sector and hospitals attended the programme. The blueprint is expected to serve as a strategic framework to leverage digital technologies in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals and Universal Health Coverage in Nepal. An expert from Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Health shared key lessons learned and best practices from their experience with implementing digital health. Participants reviewed the draft blueprint with guidance from the MoHP and WHO South-East Asia Regional Office (SEARO). WHO SEARO will now revise the draft based on feedback, and WHO Nepal will then submit to MoHP for takeover for finalization.

स्वास्थ्य तथा जनसंख्यामन्त्री प्रदीप पौडेलले बुधबार मन्त्रालयको गुणस्तर मापन तथा नियमन महाशाखा प्रमुख डा. सरोज शर्माको नेतृत्वमा सुझाव समिति गठन गर्ने निर्णय गरेका छन् ।

समितिमा मन्त्रालयको नीति योजना तथा अनुगमन महाशाखा, कानुन तथा फैसला कार्यान्वयन महाशाखा तथा पञ्जीकरण विभागका प्रतिनिधि छन् । यसैगरी सूचना प्रविधि परामर्शदाता इन्जिनियर शशांकश्री न्यौपाने, स्वास्थ्य बिमा बोर्ड, विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन तथा नेपाल उद्योग परिसंघका प्रतिनिधि पनि समितिमा छन् । समितिको सदस्यसचिवमा मन्त्रालयका सूचना प्रविधि निर्देशक रमेशराज सुवेदी छन् ।
